TONIGHT: Catch Luv spinning the N.E.R.D. new album listening party at Mondrian Skybar (Wed Oct 27th)… we wouldn’t be surprised if the band (Pharrell) makes a cameo as they’re in town.
Dj Lindsay Luv has captured a huge audience with her vast music knowledge and eclectic style. Things have gotten even better for Luv since I last caught up with her to write my Fashion Week Spotlight. She’s been pinned as a favorite amongst the writers at US Weekly, People, & OK! Magazine, and hyped on numerous music blogs, status updates, and tweets.

Before that, Spice Girl Mel B heard Luv’s set at the Mondrian Skybar and immediately recognized her talent. Since then, Luv has recorded “Scary Spice is Nice!” (DL below) and deejayed the “It’s a Scary World” wrap party for Mel B and husband, Stephan Belafonte. When I asked Luv where she drew inspiration from for the Mel B mix, she explained:
…it was created with the inspiration of “Spice Girls and Girl Power” in mind as a fun mix of throwbacks and high energy hits for Mel B’s workouts and dance parties. Mel recently launched a workout DVD and wanted great music to get pumped to.
It’s a fun mix, with hits from Katy Perry, Calvin Harris, Gwen Stefani, Madonna, amongst many other fresh tracks.
It’s reassuring that talent can triumph above the overload of deejays and artists out there. Congrats to Luv for past and present accomplishments, we’re all excited to see what’s next!
